Project Manager - Strategic Planning and Policy

Analyst
Currently, EMI is seeking an Office Administrator to join its team. This position is responsible for effectively managing daily office operations and providing administrative support to staff in a dynamic small business environment. Duties include supporting ongoing projects in a busy, interactive environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Effectively organize day-to-day priorities with ongoing projects for staff as directed. Daily tasks include word processing, report editing, calendar management, travel planning, expense report management, budget management, facility management, and corporate event planning.
• Assist with producing presentations, proposals and reports for conferences and clients.
• Assist with the administration of health care plans and paid time off benefits to include monthly billings review, responding to employee benefit questions and serving as the liaison between employees and benefit providers as appropriate. Performs new hire orientations.
• Prepare and process required paperwork for new employees and contractors, terminated employees and any change of status for employees.
• Maintain confidential employee personnel files, and all other Human Resources files.
• Schedule interviews and coordinate travel arrangements for candidates, ensuring proper follow through.
• Serve as a resource to co-workers who have questions about company policies and procedures, benefits information and general office troubleshooting.
• Complete Internet research requests and generating reports/documents as requested including searches of specialized databases.
• Manage the reception area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image.
• Direct and coordinate office services and related activities, including developing and supervising programs for the maximum utilization of services and equipment.
• Facilitate a streamlined system for supplies management that ensures supplies are available while working within budgetary and space constraints.
• Monitor condition of the offices and coordinate maintenance to ensure a clean and functional environment.
• Perform a wide-variety of clerical duties including filing, photocopying and faxing documents
• Field telephone calls/voicemail and arrange conference calls with internal and external participants.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years administrative experience including senior management support; highly effective interpersonal skills to handle various interactions including sensitive and confidential situations; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail; ability to maintain multiple tasks and time deadlines and respond quickly to changing priorities; proficiency with MS Word, Windows, Excel and Outlook; and, at least a high school diploma with additional education or training. A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

This position is responsible for ensuring completion of high-quality projects, managing timelines, resources and budgets, and fostering strong client relationships. EMI is looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is detail-oriented, creative, and strives for project excellence and client satisfaction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide strategic and tactical consulting for clients.
2. Prepare client proposals.
3. Manage the overall scope for assigned projects.
4. Meet project goals for revenue and profitability.
5. Manage overall budgets for assigned projects.
6. Manage client and subcontractor relationships.
7. Ensure quality of all client deliverables.
8. Track and provide regular management updates related to on-going projects and issues.
9. Manage, train and provide direction for analysts assigned to projects.
10. Assist with business development activities, including business development goals for existing clients.
11. Provide leadership in supporting and executing EMI’s mission and vision.
12. Model positive communication and collaboration skills for all staff.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years project management experience, preferably in a consulting or highly regulated industry environment; have knowledge of electric and gas utilities, or other regulated industries; experience conducting and supervising policy research and/or planning in an academic or consulting environment, demonstrated ability to tailor approaches to individual client needs; exceptional written and oral communication skills; and at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s degree is preferred). Additional skill and experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desired:
• Process analysis and design
• Scenario planning
• Financial and trend analysis
• Benefit/cost modeling

Currently, EMI is seeking an Analyst to join its Market Research and Evaluation team. This position is responsible for researching, collecting, and analyzing data to support the successful completion of consulting engagements. The opportunity offers a significant level of responsibility and potential for direct client interaction within a very entrepreneurial work environment. You will be afforded the opportunity to apply both creative and analytical talents with a high degree of ownership in the work being undertaken. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Assist in survey research and other means of primary data collection, including survey design, sample development, survey implementation, in-depth interviews, and focus groups.
2. Conduct discrete secondary research tasks including web-based research, literature reviews, policy research, and document review.
3. Conduct quantitative analysis of primary and secondary data and develop written summaries of research and results.
4. Conduct cost-benefit analysis of efficiency programs.
5. Assist in project planning, tracking status, deliverables, and priorities.
6. Review, edit, and comment on staff work products including reports and proposals.
7. Assist in preparing draft and final client deliverables and presentations.
8. Participate in project meetings and EMI staff meetings.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience conducting research and analysis with an analytical background in applied economics and statistics or related field; demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; and excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful analyst will be self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and be accountable for the quality of research and accuracy of results provided to EMI’s clients. Experience with a regulated utility industry is highly desired as well as fluency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SPSS or other statistical analysis package. Qualified candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
